Long Nights, cold winds, snow storms and the most delicate frost. Yes winter is a time of cold dark days and for many that means staying inside out of the cold, but for me that means exploring outside for the most curious and amazing things. Frost; we see it everyday on our window panes and lawns but do we ever take the time to appreciate how beautiful it is. This photo twas taken on a day during winter break. I was told to go outside and what I found was incredible. The most delicate layer of frost covered everything outside. The grass had become white like it had been covered with paint, an invisible spiderweb became prominent as crystals formed on it and the leaves held the most intricate patterns of ice formation. This photo was a close up of the frost that had formed on metal. Something I never thought could be beautiful was transformed by frost. Taking this photo I got very close to my subject and and focused on a small circle of frost. I was surprised by how nice the finished picture turned out. It really brings about the winter mood and reminds of the unbearable cold.
